Can Go Power Solar Elite System be Expanded & Are Lithium Batteries Worth It
Question:
are lithium batteries worth it? can you still use a plug in portable solar panel kit to supplement your roof panels and get more sun? are tiltable roof solar panel kits worth it? I have a small trailer that I want to go off grid with more. thanks Best system-expandable? if you go with the Go Power Solar Elite system which includes a 2000 Watt pure sine wave inverter, converter charger and transfer switch?-how does that interact with the current built in converter /charger which is a WF-8955 on my small travel trailer with 30 amp plug.

There's a lot here, so let's go ahead and take these one by one, yes you can still use a plug-in portable solar kit, and as far as lithium batteries, their cost can be justified, but it's hard to give a blanket statement about worth. Their value comes from the fact that you get more life out of them per use, and they last longer. For example, let's take the Go Power AGM RV Battery - 100 Amp Hour # 34276285 vs. the Go Power Lithium RV Battery - 100 Amp Hour # 34282738.
The AGM battery can be discharged up to 50 percent (50 amp hours) before it needs to be charged again, while the Lithium batteries can be discharged between 80 and 90 percent (80-90 amp hours) before needing to be charged.
Now let's go ahead and get to the Go Power Solar Elite Charging System - 380 Watt Solar Panels - 2,000 Watt Inverter Charger # 34282184.
This will not interact with your current converter, it will be its own separate entity and connect directly to the solar battery bank. It can indeed be expanded if you like, with the Go Power Overlander Expansion Kit - 190 Watt Solar Panel # 34282182.
As for the tilting Adjustable Mount Kit # 34244034, it can be worth it if you are positioned in such a way that it allows you to get more sun.
I have added some links below to video reviews for you to check out as well if you'd like to take a look.
