Recommended Hitch for Motorized Lift and Camping Trailer for 2013 Kia Sportage
Question:
I want to install a towing hitch on my 2013 Kia Sportage, so I can put a motorized lift rack for a pride mobility scooter. Which hitch would be best ? We may also get a pop up camping trailer, so would like to get a hitch that would work for either of these two things. Thank you

For your 2013 Kia Sportage I recommend the # C13120 Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. This Class III hitch has a concealed cross tube and is custom fit for your Kia Sportage.
It has a maximum tongue weight of 525 lbs and maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs. The maximum gross trailer weight may be increased to 5,250 with the used of weight distribution. You will need to know the weight of the scooter and weight of the motorized lift rack you are using to make sure it does not exceed the 525 lbs tongue weight of the hitch. Assuming it does not, this will work for you.
Since you also plan on doing some towing, I recommend the # 118526 Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for your 4-way connection. This is a custom fit part which plugs into existing wiring behind your taillights. I also recommend the # ETBC7 Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller if you require a 7-way connection for your camping trailer.
I have attached a review as well as several installation videos on a Kia Sportage for your reference.
