Fit of Dexter # K71-652-00 E-Z Flex Suspension Equalizer as Replacement for 13-104-02

Question:

I would like to use the K71-652-00 kit for my double axle trailer as I currently have 2 worn Dexter 13-104-02 Equalizers. This kit of yours appears to be the correct upgrade/replacement although I dont have the required 33 inches between axle centers its less. Im guessing Id rather not that it will be a direct replacement based upon you listing it as replacing a 13-104. The problem is a 13-104-02 has a spec. of 5 5/8inch between center holes and the 13-104-04 is 5 3/4inch between center holes. Does the K71-652-00 fit for both of these? My 13-104-02 equalizer holes measure 5 3/4 inches with a 2 inch height to the center hole. Which from everything I read it should be 5 5/8. Regardless of the actual measurements it is stamped Dexter 13-104-02. Sorry if I sound difficult, I rather order it once and have the right part...

The Dexter Heavy Duty 5-5/8 Rubber Suspension Equalizer, part # K71-652-00, is the specified replacement part for the standard 13-104 equalizer for tandem axle trailers. This is intended for use with axles rated for up to 6000 lbs. Please take a look at the linked photo that shows you the normal range of the spacing between the shackle bolt holes.

The only other tandem axle kit offered, part # K71-653-00, has a 7-3/4 inch equalizer and replaces part # 13-122 for 8000-lb axles. There is a photo on that item's page show its dimensions.

Axle spacing on your trailer will be a function of several things: the equalizers, the shackle and the springs. The minor variance you note is not a concern.
