Determining Which Replacement Hub Fits Carry-On 5 x 8 Utility Trailer With 2000lb GVWR

Question:

I have a Carry-On Utility Trailer, 2,000 LB GVWR Model 5x8G 5 bolt and Im looking for a replacement set of hubs with bearings, races and seals. Will the Trailer Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Cast Item # T4084600042, work as a replacement? Thank you for your assistance,

Helpful Expert Reply:

Since your Carry-On 5' x 8' Utility Trailer has a 2000lb GVWR it more than likely has a 2000lb axle and would need a hub that uses either inner and outer bearings # L44643 or # L44649.

I know on The 5' x 8' Carry-On Trailer I bought last year it uses the # L44649, but you will want to confirm this before making a purchase.

To determine which bearings your hubs use you will need to remove one of the hubs and look for the bearing numbers stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649.

If you find your trailer uses inner and outer bearing # L44649 like mine then the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K E-Z Lube - 10" to 12" Wheels - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-545-2-EZ-2K.

If you find that your trailer uses the # L44643 instead then the # T4084600042 you were looking at would be correct.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
