Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2021 Toyota Highlander Compatible W/ Weight Distribution

Question:

Do you have any idea why it says this hitch is not compatible with weight distribution? It mounts in the same way as the other hitches. I can’t see how it could be non compatible with a WDH.

The reason the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C99FR you were looking at is not rated for weight distribution hitches is due to its design. It does mount differently than the Curt # C45CR as these two hitches have different designed mounting brackets.

Since you are planning on using a weight distribution hitch I recommend going with the # C45CR instead. This hitch will not fit if your 2021 Toyota Highlander is an XSE model, so if you have a XSE model there is not currently a hitch available that will work with a weight distribution hitch
