Trailer Hitch Hits Carbon Cannister Cover On 2015 Infiniti QX60
Question:
I received this Curt hitch last week to install on my wifes QX60, and after watching the video, it seemed pretty straightforward. I followed all the steps, and then I was trying to bolt the hitch on, but the slots on the hitch do not line up with the holes on the car. There is a box on the drivers side that hangs down looks to be a Bose component, and on my wifes car there is a guard covering this box. After watching the install video closer again, I noticed this guard is NOT on the car used in the video. This guard on our car does not allow the hitch to fit, but I have seen no mention of this anywhere. Further, this guard looks to be a bit of a pain to remove because the bolts are to access. Has this been encountered before? Just seems odd that only my wifes car would have this guard, and no other QX60s. Please advise, as this wouldve been a great piece of information to know on order to eliminate a lot of frustration and head scratching. Regards,

It sounds like you are referring to the carbon cannister cover. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13126 which is a fit for a 2015 Infiniti QX60 does not show any modifications needed to this for proper fitment. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76031 which is also a fit for a 2015 Infiniti QX60 does show trimming of the carbon cannister required for proper fit. If you are having fit issues I recommend trimming the cannister cover.
