2021 Alliance 340 RL

Question:

Hello I’m interested in a new king pin for my rig that is longer as I cannot open my tailgate while hitched and must close while hitching to avoid hitting, I was able to leave my tailgate open and walk between my truck and rig with gate open on my previous unit which was a 2018 Gran Design 385GK, any help would be appreciated

You won't really be able to gain much more clearance by switching the pin box but what you can do is use a sliding fifth wheel hitch in the bed of your truck and slide it rearward and lock it into place while coupling to your 2021 Alliance 340RL. Depending on the hitch you choose you could gain 10-14" of clearance so you won't have to worry about the tailgate coming into contact with the body of your RV.

If you could send me the year/make/model of your truck and if if has an OEM prep package installed I could recommend the correct fitting fifth wheel hitch for you.
