Which Hub and Drums and Braking Assemblies Fit Tandem 6000lb Phillips/Dexter Axles?

Question:

I have a trailer with dual axels, i believe they are 6,000 lb phillip dexter axels. The axels are 3inch diam. And 1 axel had an aluminum band that says 6,000lb max cap. Phillip/Dexter axel , excl rims and tires. The brake drum measures 12inch × 2 1/4, on the outside of the drums in raised letters is K-H-71744 also in a different area is K150 and W1. The outside race measure 1.248inch , the inner race is 1.751inch . The outside bearing is a KOYO LM 704. The leading shoe is 11 1/4inch x2inch , the rear brake shoe is 8 3/4inch × 2. I am looking to put new electric brakes on the brake flange is a 4 bolt pattern and new drums with a 6 lug pattern for 15inch wheels. Hopefully you can help me with getting the correct parts. Any help would be appreciated with item numbers if possible

As long as the race measurements you took were of the inside diameter then your spindle uses inner bearing # 25580 and outer bearing # 14125A, # LM67048, or # 15123 as each of these measure 1.25". The only difference between these outer bearings is the race used which is based on the hub and not the spindle.

For a replacement hub and drum I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb and 6,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 12" - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-201-9UC3-EZ which will be an exact fit for you and has the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern you mentioned your 15" wheels use.

Now what is odd is that your brake flange has a 4 bolt pattern as 5200-7000lb brakes normally have a 5 bolt pattern. More than likely you will need the Dexter Electric Brake Kit for 4 Bolt or 5 Bolt Flange - 12" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 6K # 23-105-106-09 which uses the AL-KO/Hayes 4 bolt pattern. You will want to measure your brake mounting flange and compare it to the included diagram. If it is the same then these brakes will be exactly what you need.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
