Will The Lift Gate Sensor No Longer Operate On My 2020 Honda Pilot With a Receiver Hitch Installed?
Question:
I see it mentions attaching this hitch will mean having to move the hand free lift gate sensor. If you don’t move it will the lift gate continually try to open or will it actually make it not work at all. I don’t care if that is the case…I just don’t want it trying to open randomly. Thank you

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13146 will not cause the lift gate to continually try and open on your 2020 Honda Pilot. The receiver may block the sensor enough that you need to get the sensor relocation bracket from Honda. I have seen some reviews that claim the hands free sensor will still work but requires the kick action to be placed right next to the receiver tube.
The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760 will provide you a 4-way flat wiring connector for towing small trailers and using Auxiliary Lights # C53201 with bike racks and cargo carries that may block the taillights on your Pilot.
The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118286 give you a 7-way blade connection. This is used with larger trailers that have electric brakes or charge line circuits for trailer batteries. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 will pair well with the harness to control the trailer brakes if you will be towing a trailer that has electric brakes with your Pilot.
