First things first using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 test the 5 o'clock pin on your 2014 Ram 3500's 7-way connector while a friend applies the manual override to the controller. If you are getting power, there then this means the issues is between your trailers 7-way connector and the brake magnets. You will want to check all of this wiring for any damage and replaced damaged sections with # 10-1-1 and heat shrink butt connectors # DW05745-5.
If you do NOT have power on this pin, then the issue is in your truck. Cut the blue wire going to the trailer brake controller at least 6" from the controller then using the circuit tester test the blue wire coming out of the trailer brake controller while engaging the manual override. If you have power here, then the wire running from the controller to the 7-way is damaged and is causing the brakes not to get power. You will need to trace this wire and replace any damaged sections with # 10-1-1 and # DW05745-5.
If you cannot find any damaged sections, then you can bypass the existing wire using # 10-1-1 to run from the controller to the 7-way connector.
If you do not have power exiting the trailer brake controller but it has power, then the issue is likely a short in the controller and it will need to be replaced.
