Replacement 5th Wheel Rails & Hitch for 2007 Toyota Tundra

Question:

Hello, recently acquired a new to me 2007 Toyota Tundra 2wd 8ft bed, 5.7 with factory tow package, with the goal of getting a 5th wheel - so a hitch is needed. New to fifth wheels, not new to RV’s. Truck I purchased used to have a hitch, and was removed from the top side, poorly. What is left of the bolts are still in the bed, please see pictures. Purpose of this email is to see if etrailer’s awesome experts can tell me which hitch can use the mounting that was left behind…. Pictures attached, and more than happy to provide any other view/measurements. Please let me know, and thanks for your time,

From the attached images it appears you had ISR, Industry Standard Rails attached but I cannot tell from what manufacturer. The Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP30035-309 is a confirmed fit for the 2007 Toyota Tundra. These rails will work with fifth wheel hitches by Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley, Huskey brands, and most standard fifth wheel hitches. They will not however fit Reese Elite Series or the Valley UBS Hitches.

The Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch 16,000 lb. # RP30047 is a very reliable cost effective hitch. This has a 4,000 lb. TW that sets 13-1/2" to 17" inches in height. Since you have an 8 foot bed you will not need a slider hitch, this fixed type hitch works well for your truck as long as 16K meets the need of your 5th wheel. The lighter size/weight allows for easier removal when not needed allowing for open use of the truck bed.

Please the several help articles I have attached for informational purposes and let us know what follow-up questions you will have.
