Which Way Should E-Tracks be Mounted to Secure Dirt Bikes in a 5' x 10' Trailer?
Question:
I have a 5 x 10 utility trailer with wood floor deck, and will need to set-up e tracks to secure 3 dirt bikes in the trailer. The bikes are longer than the trailer is wide, so they will need to go into the trailer facing forwards or backwards, as opposed to sideways. My question is what is the proper direction to mount the e tracks...do you mount them across the 5 ft span of trailer, or do you mount them along the 10 ft length of the trailer? Thanks!

The Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 can actually be mounted either way. For your setup, however, I suggest going widthwise. This way you can mount the dirt bikes side by side while strapping all the fronts along the same track as well as all the rears along another track. This will be the most stabile way to load all the bikes.
If you do not already have some tie down straps, the Erickson E-Track Strap with Ratchet # EM59136 will secure everything very nicely. These are 12 feet long and have a 1,165 pound working capacity.
