How to Install 7-Way Connector on 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon Without Splicing
Question:
I want to do the same thing you described in this article on my Subaru Outback but I want the brakes connected. You said all you needed to do was connect the ground if it was just lights, but I was wondering if there is a plug and play option that I can do without having to splice. Is it possible to convert the OEM connector hidden on the left side of the cab directly into a 7 pin? I was a wireless Curt echo controller. Would installing the Curt 56366 Custom Wiring Connector - Circuit Protected And Powered - 3-Wire System be a viable option? If so how would I install it to avoid any splicing if at all possible?

I do have an option for you but there is not a direct plug-n-play 7-way trailer connector option for a 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon. That said, you can obtain one by first installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118467 and then converting this to a 7-way. The correct adapter will be based on what brake controller you want to use, if you don't want to do any splicing then you'll have to go wireless, the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller part # C51180 is what I recommend. The Wireless Brake Controller Install Kit part # ETBC7L would then complete your installation.
In regards to install of the adapter; simple ground the white wire, run the black to the power, and lastly plug in the two 4-ways.
