Can the Rain Shield Mounting Tabs Be Removed From my MaxxAir MaxxFan
Question:
Do you know what the 4 small rubber s and raised bumbs are for on the left and right side of the mounting flange? They hang out passed the mounting adapter on my van. Cutting the flange back to remove them would be the best solution to make everything line up, If that’s not going to create a problem with the mounting flange.

The 4 tabs on the side of your MaxxAir # MA99FR are designed to allow you to mount a rain shield like the MaxxAir FanMate RV and Trailer Roof Vent Cover - 25" x 18-1/8" x 10-1/4" - White # MA00-955001. A rain shield like the # MA00-955001 allows you to have the fan vent open and pushing air even in the rain, and is a popular addition to vents. You could remove them if you don't plan on using a rain shield and it won't negatively effect the structural integrity of the mounting plate.
