Question:
PURCHASED A 2014 JEEP FROM MY DAUGHTER called manufacturer with VIN number, unfortunately it does NOT have a tow package. Im pulling a Bass boat with electronic serge brakes. What wiring can I purchase from your store for installation ? I plan to wire this myself if it is not overly complicated. Appreciate response, leaving for bass fishing trip July 4th

We can help you out here, as there's a couple of parts you will need for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in order to use your trailer's electric brakes, with the he correct parts being the following:
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat # C62VR
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7
The 4-way is needed in order to activate the lighting functions on your trailer, and it will plug right into the 7-way adapter that comes with the # ETBC7. The installation involves connecting and running some wires, but isn't overly difficult; I have added some links below which help explain what you'll need to do.
The other thing you will need is a brake controller and wiring harness, and there is one option I really like for this, from Draw-Tite:
- Brake EVN # TK63VR
- Brake Control Harness # 20127
I recommend the I-Command because it is a great value due to its unique combination of quality and cost-effectiveness. The I-Command is going to give you smooth braking, is easy to use, and has a bright display that is simple to read and understand. For a combination of quality, reliability, and price, there really isn't a better option than the I-Command.
