Does the wiring harness and/or wiring instructions have means for releasing the surge brakes on the trailer when backing up?

If your surge brake coupler is equipped with an electric lockout solenoid, the 7-way trailer connector included with the Stealth Hitch # SH25VR will actuate the lockout, as long as the purple wire for the 7-way is tapped into the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit as outlined in the linked installation instructions. This assumes your boat trailer uses a 7-way trailer connector. If the trailer use a 5-pole connector, you can use an adapter like part
# A57WB.
