Does Tekonsha Voyager 39510 Need To Be Hardwired In 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 W/O OEM Trailer Connector?
Question:
Another question please. I have the etbc7 wiring harness. I also looked at video that shows install of Tekonsha controller that shows direct plug n to dodge braking system. Is this connector only for trucks with preexisting 7 way connector? If not I’m assuming I need to follow directions received Thanks

You are correct.
Since your 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 does not have the factory trailer connector your truck does not have the factory trailer brake controller port.
You will need to hardwire the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 you purchased making the following connections:
Black wire to black wire run to vehicle battery with 20 amp circuit breaker if trailer has 1-2 braking axles or 30 amp circuit breaker if trailer has 3-4 braking axles. The fuses were included with # ETBC7
White wire to ground
Blue wire to blue wire on # ETBC7
Red wire to cold side of stop light switch that only has power when break pedal is pressed. Using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 will help you find the correct wire.
I included a video showing the # 39510 being installed in a similar 2008 Dodge Ram for you to take a look at.
