Does The Rhino-Rack Cargo Basket RMCB02 Fit 2021 Toyota Tacoma Roof Rack Without Scratching Roof?
Question:
I am getting mixed messages on whether the RMCB02 x-tray will properly fit my 2021 Tacoma with factory rails/crossbars. I am told that on the 4runner, your mounting brackets mounting to the factory crossbars will rest on the roof and scratch the paint. another Tacoma owner mentioned that this did not occur on the Tacoma but my understanding is is that the 4runner and Tacoma share the same clearances. Can you respond?

The Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide # RMCB02 will fit your 2021 Toyota Tacoma without an issue and should not scratch your roof. The only part of this system that sits under your crossbars is the brackets that clamp around the crossbars; I just confirmed with Rhino-Rack that the bottom side of the brackets measure only 1/2" thick, so as long as you have 1/2" clearance between your roof rack and roof then you will be fine.
A really nice feature is the front wind fairing which reduces noise and vibration; I also think this cargo basket would look great on the Tacoma. I attached a demonstration video for you to check out.
