Installing A Demco SBS Stay In Play Duo Supplemental Braking System On A 2020 Equinox LT AWD
Question:
I am looking at purchasing the SM99251 but when I look at the installation on my vehicle the steering shaft is directly behind the brake pedal. Not sure how that bracket would mount to the firewall without being at a pretty good angle to the pedal.

The Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251 is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Chevy Equinox and I've attached an installation video of the braking system in a 2020 Chevy Equinox to help with your installation. I spoke with Demco about this same issue in a 2020 Buick Envision and they provided a picture of what they did to attach the actuator to the brake pedal (see attached picture). The technician recommended bending the bracket where it attaches to the arm of the brake pedal a little bit because the arm is somewhat rounded and you'll want to have full contact. You can install the bracket backwards to allow for enough space to for the actuator like in the picture provided.
