Can Curt T-Connector And Curt 4-way and 7-way Connector Be Powered From The Same Wire?

I plan to install the OEM Jeep receiver, and want to use the Curt 56369 adapter kit and also the Curt 57672 4-to-7 Converter. I think I will use a Curt 51180 Bluetooth controller, but I also want to run a brake controller blue wire to the engine bay just in case I need it later to install another wired controller. The question I have is is there any good reason for *two* power lines needed straight to the vehicle battery, or can I splice both power connectors into one wire going up front? The picture with the 56369 kit shows it coming with 12 ga wire. What I will probably do is just buy the eTrailer ETBCXW 10 ga wires. I will then splice both the 4-way control box power out *AND* the 7-way power wire before routing the 2 wires to the engine bay. Also, I think I will use a circuit breaker 30 or 40 amp at the battery connection instead of the supplied fuse. Do you see any problems with this install? Thanks

I have another option for you, but the Curt T-Connector # C56369 and Curt 7-way Connector # C57672 for your 2019 Jeep Compass cannot be powered by the same wire to the battery. The reason for this is the # C56369 requires you to use the included 10 amp fuse. Using a 30 or 40 amp circuit breaker would overload the module.

While it is a little inconvenient, you will need to run two separate power wires.

Instead of using the # C57672 I recommend the # ETBC7 which has the same style 4-way and 7-way connector, but includes all of the required circuit breakers, wire, and connectors. With the # C56369 installed you will plug it into the the # ETBC7 and make 3 connections. The black wire will get extended to the battery of your vehicle using the included 40 amp circuit breaker, the blue wire is the brake output wire which will get run to either the engine bay or under the dash incase you want to add a traditional controller in the future, and the white wire will get grounded to the frame.

The Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 will work perfectly in the # ETBC7.
