Will The Thule Compass Fit On Mazda Whispbar Crossbars?
Question:
I would like to install the Thule Compass on the factory rack for my 2018 Mazda3 hatchback. My concern is whether the standard adapter clamps that come with the Compass will fit around the Whispbar bars, which are ~3.5” wide. Or whether I can mount the Compass into the Whispbar T-tracks, and if so, which T-track adapter kit I will need.

That is a rather wide crossbar, one carrier that is compatible with wider crossbars is the Yakima Jaylow # Y04073. This one doesn't wrap all the way around your crossbars but squeezes the crossbar from each side. This is compatible with a 3-1/2" crossbar width and can be used with one or two kayaks! It comes with one complete strap kit but you'll need another set # Y04031 to get two tied down properly. The Thule Compass # TH890000 wraps around the crossbars and those type of mounting systems tend to not fit wide crossbars like your
