Recommended Fifth Wheel Hitch For A 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 6-3/4 Bed W/ OEM Puck System

Question:

I recently purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500hd diesel short bed to tow my 2018 Salem Hemisphere 295BH. The 2020 GMCs are slightly longer that previous models 69 inch box. I have a Demco sliding hitch, but would love to switch it out with a new non-sliding hitch that would be much easier to move the Demco is really heavy. Is this something I should be able to do? THE GMC also has the pre-installed puck package, so I would prefer to utilize that instead of the below bed rails my Demco needs. Thank you! Mike

There's nothing that says you can't switch to a regular hitch instead of a slider but you're taking a risk of hitting the cab with your camper when making tight turns. I always recommend a slider for any truck bed less than 8' for this reason. If you decide you still want a non-slider hitch and want to use your OEM puck system you'll be able to use the Reese M5 # RP26FR.
