Can a Factory 4 Flat Plug be Used With the Tekonsha 118266 on a 2012 Pathfinder
Question:
Im confused. I have the Nissan factory 4-pin wiring, and I need to add 7-pin with brake controller. Will this one part # 118266 for me - see photo attached of my connectors - and will I still be able to use the 4-pin flat? The grey/white connector wires go directly to the 4-pin on the bumper. Ill eventually be towing both a camping trailer with brakes and a boat trailer with my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder.

Installing the Tekonsha 7 Way # 118266 will require the removal of the 4 Flat harness. That being said, the Pollak 7 Way to 4 Way Adapter # PK12716 would allow you to plug your 4 Flat into the 7 Way without issues.
Installing the brake controller will also be very easy on your 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. The Tekonsha Pigtail # 3050-P will plug directly into the port under your dash. This would then plug directly into the back of any Tekonsha brake controller, but I suggest going with their Primus IQ # TK90160. With the easy to read LED screen and simple set up, it is an ideal proportional brake controller.
