Flat Towing A 2004 Ford Ranger 4x4 Manual Transmission
Question:
What do I need to flat tow my 2004 Ford Ranger 4x4 Manual Transmission
asked by: Greg M
Expert Reply:
To flat tow your 2004 Ford Ranger 4x4 Manual Transmission you'll have to disconnect the front (4x4 only) and rear
driveshafts. You'll need to read your owner's manual and follow the required steps to ensure your vehicle is flat tow ready.
You'll also need a few accessories to flat tow your vehicle and for that I recommend the following:
Base Plates: # DM9518107.
Tow Bar: # DM9511012.
Tow Bar Wiring: # RM-154.
Braking System: # HM39494 - This braking system comes with a battery charger so you don't have to worry about your vehicle's battery dying while you tow.
Safety Cables: The tow bar I recommended comes with safety cables so you won't have to buy additional ones.
