Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For a 2021 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:

We are purchasing a 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 that has a puck system and the bed is 6 3/4. We are looking for a slider system and we are looking for an 18K if you have it or a 20K fifth wheel hitch. We have been looking at part # BWRVK3775-20k. If you do have an 18k BandW, what would the part number be? Do I need an adapter with either of these hitches? Also, would we have a tailgate clearance issue with either of these? Is it better to buy online or over the phone? Thank you.

B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3775 will work with your truck's puck system with no adapters needed. If you wanted to use an 18k hitch you'd have to switch to the # DM8550034 with the # DM6333 rail system.

# BWRVK3775 does state there could be clearance issues with the tailgate. to see if that's the case hook up your camper and pull your truck forward until the slider is fully engaged and try closing your tailgate. It's best to do this with another person to have them help guide you while pulling the trailer forward.
