How to Add More Sway Control After Installing a Weight Distribution Hitch

Question:

I recently installed this on my half ton chevy pickup. I took all the measurements and got my truck front and back down to non load height. I am still experiencing sway when vehicles pass. Especially at 60mph and higher. Any advice on adjustments?

This can be caused by a few things. If the trailer is loaded front heavy or back heavy, it can cause sway issues even when a weight distribution system is used. You will want to load the trailer or camper over the axles as much as possible to start.

From there, if you have not used all the spacer washers, item 25 on the instructions for # FA92-00-1000, you may want to add a few more on to increase the pressure of the bars on the L Brackets.

Depending on how much the trailer weighs and how long it is, you may still need to supplement the weight distribution system even more. The Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control System # 335TSC-1000 will be a great way to compensate for the sway if it is still happening.
