Can 14,000 lb Timbren Silent Ride Suspension be Used on Trailer With Higher GVWR

Question:

I have a keystone fuzion with 2, 7k 3" axles but my gvw is 16,500 pounds. Am I safe to use this kit? Also have gooseneck equipment trailer with same axles but a 16,700 pound rating would I be safe to use on both trailers?

The simple answer to your question is yes, you can replace your standard 7,000 lb axles on both your 5th wheel and gooseneck toy hauler with the 14,000 lb Silent Ride:

- Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3" Round Axles - 35" - 14K # TSR14K35T01

The reason why your Keystone Fuzion and gooseneck trailer both have tandem 7,000 lb axles but a higher GVWR is that the pin weight - which will be about 20 percent of the GVWR - gets subtracted from the overall capacity and weight placed on the axles. So even if you are maxed out to the GVWR of either trailer, when you subtract the pin weight (which gets transferred to your truck), you are under the 14,000 lb capacity of your current axles and the Timbren Silent Ride # TSR14K35T01.

So you can definitely use the Silent Ride safely, and is a great choice to give you a much smoother, more comfortable towing experience for both trailers.
