2021 Ram 3500 Short Bed 5th Wheel Hitch Receiver Recommendation

Question:

Ive ordered a Ram 3500 6foot 4inch box with the 5th Wheel Prep Group. I plan on towing a Solitude 310GK. What is the better solution a Sidewinder or Sliding 5th will hitch. I would prefer to use the Anderson 5th Wheel hitch due to its lower wait. However, I dont know if thats the right solution. Thanks for your assistance.

For your 2021 Ram 3500 with OEM Prep Pkg I recommend the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000lbs Item # C16541 and the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Ram Towing Prep Package Item # C16022. Since you have a short bed a slider is going to be your best option to gain a little bit of turning radius. Sidewinders will give you extra turning clearance but with your bed being only 6'4" the slider will allow the camper to pull further away from the cab and with a longer king pin you can gain more clearance than you could with a sidewinder. If you decide you would prefer a sidewinder then reply back with the model/serial number of your current king pin and I recommend the correct fitting replacement.
