Is Curt Q20 Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch on Ram 3500 Compatible with Rota-Flex Pin Box
Question:
Can you please clear up some confusion in regards to the Curt Q20 hitch ? Currently have the Q20 on the R20 slider assembly in a short bed Ram 3500 with the Curt legs for the Ram factory puck system. Is the Q20 compatible to tow with the Rota Flex pin box installed on an Alliance Avenue 33rks ?

Thank you for reaching out - I'd be more than happy to clear up any confusion!
The Rota-Flex pin boxes, like part # LC176440, are NOT compatible with the E-Series and Q-Series Curt 5th wheel hitches because they have a spherical head which won't be stable enough to work with the Rota-Flex cushioning design. So if you really like the Curt 5th wheel hitch design you need to either swap out your pin box or you need to use the A20 Curt hitch which has a torsion head that is compatible with the Rota-Flex cushioning system.
To accomplish this you can either swap the Q20 head out for the A20 head part # C16540 or you can sell the Q20 sliding hitch as a whole and replace it with the whole A20 Slider Hitch # C16541 instead. If you decide to replace the entire hitch be sure to keep that adapter rail kit you already have so this will fit with the pucks on your Ram 3500.
