To fix the jaws of a hitch like the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Dual Jaw Trailer Hitch, Item # C16130, when they are out of alignment, you will start by making sure the flip lock is hanging freely in a clockwise, rotated position. Then pull out the lock bar so that it is in the fully extended position and then release it. This action will reset the jaws. Afterwards, check and make sure jaws are working properly.

If the jaws are still out of alignment and the hitch does not seem to be damaged then your hitch may need to be properly lubricated. Follow the maintenance instructions and recommendations and use black graphite grease (not just any grease) for the jaws, pins, and lower bearing assembly. You will also need to grease the spiral cam pocket.

If still not aligned after these actions then contact us again and we will look at other troubleshooting options.
