Can You Mount 2 40-Inch Canoes on a Platform Rack?

Question:

Hi I have a Sprinter van with a 4-legged pioneer platform and roller on top of it. I also own three 78-inch HD bars. Is there any way I could get 2 40-inch wide canoes side-by-side up there? I was hoping NOT to have the platform installed on the HD bars, but somehow going the other way around, with bars on top of the platform, hence raising the canoes a little bit . Would a set of RTLP legs mount safely somewhere on the platform?

I think I have a possible solution. The only bars that are compatible with pioneer platforms will not give you the 80 inches you need for mounting your two canoes. However, I confirmed with my contact at Yakima that your 40-inch canoes will fit on the Yakima BigCatch Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - Saddle Style # Y04091. For this to work, you will need to remove the pioneer rack from the bars you have installed and install the Big Catches right onto the HD bars. I also confirmed that this carrier will be with your 78-inch HD bars.
