Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Subaru Legacy
Question:
All new to this - have pulled light day fishing boats previously but nothing larger. Have just purchased a 2018 Legacy with all the interior bells and whistles and want to buy a small trailer and hit the road abit. Where do I start? size - towing capacity - ease of coupling and un-coupling? Assume that your hitches are shipped for owner or certified hitchfoot installer guy here is Wilmington NC Thoughts and opinions appreciated. THX

Your 2018 Subaru Legacy is rated to tow 1,000lbs.
I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7384 as it will not have the exposed cross tube and gives you a 2" receiver that will allow for more hitch accessory options.
For the trailer lighting you will need the Tekonsha T-One Connector Assembly # 118671. This will give you a 4-way flat connection to control the lights on your trailer.
Our etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 will give you 2 different ball mounts that over either a 3/4" rise or 2-3/4" rise and 2" or 1-7/8" balls. The convenient carry bag will allow you to keep everything in one place to reduce the risk of misplacing any of the parts.
That will get you everything you need to connect to the trailer. Your search for a trailer will depend on what kind of trips did you have in mind for the trailer. We do carry several small trailers for kayak, fishing gear, small boats, utility trailers, and trailers that will have roof rack style rails to allow you to customize what you carry.
