Running Lights Not Working on Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2013 Honda Pilot

Question:

I have installed this harness on my 2013 pilot ex-l with tow package. After testing on my camper The brake and turn signals work fine, however the running tail lamps are not working with the lights on. Any suggestions? Second Question: Any advice on mounting bracket options similar to a honda factory mounting bracket? As of now my connector is just zip tied to my hitch? Thank you.

You will need to make sure all of the included fuses and relays are installed and that none are blown. This includes the in-line fuses that are part of the harness. A blown fuse or relay could cause this problem.

If all the fuses are installed and working properly then use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 if needed to test the running light pin on the 7-Way. If it has power then you know the problem is on the trailer, most likely a dirty or corroded trailer connector or bad ground at the lights or main trailer connector ground.

If there is no power on the 7-Way then there is most likely a bad relay or something is wrong inside the converter and it will need to be replaced.

A mounting bracket that fits in the factory location is not available. For a neater appearance you can use a bracket like # PK12711U and no drill bracket # 18140. We also have a mounting box, # 18159.
