2020 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Trim Removal for Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation

Hi - I have the Grand Touring Model and understand an additional piece of trim needs to be removed. Will I need additional tools to do this and will the hitch come with instructions on what piece to remove?

When installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13315 on your 2020 Mazda CX-5 GT, the additional part that needs to be removed is shown in step 1 of the instructions(linked below). You can also see the part removed in the video below as well and will only require a flat head screw driver to remove.

While you are installing the trailer hitch it is a great time to also install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118746. This will allow you to tow a trailer as well as add auxiliary lighting for any receiver mounted accessories that may block the view of your taillights.
