Can Hitch Weight of Fifth Wheel Setup be Moved Forward by Adjustments to Hitch
Question:
I have had my hitch for a couple years, have run over the scales, and what I see is 3600 lbs pin weight, but only 75 lbs transfer to the front axle, 2006 ram 2500 crew cab short bed, turn over ball, have the hitch as far fwd as the mounts will go, would like to see about 500 lbs transferred to the front axle. Is there a different arm that will push the hitch forward about 2 to 3 inches?

Expert Reply:
There really isn't a way to move the weight forward of a hitch without moving the rails forward. If you move the hitch forward but the rails stay in the same place you really won't move a significant amount of weight forward since the area in the truck bed still carries the weight in the same place.
