Will Curt Ball Mount and Wiring Harness Work W/ Draw-Tite DT73RR On 2021 Subaru Outback?
Question:
Hi - I was looking to purchase a hitch for my wifes new 2021 Outback. I was originally looking at the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch 13437 but that is not in stock and I need the hitch by the end of the month. You have the DT73RR in stock and I reviewed the install video for it - its a bit more work but looks like it will work out fine. So your site lists the Ball Mount Kit for 2inch Hitches Item # 989900 and the 118467 wiring harness as compatible accessories. I already have the C45534 starter kit and the C56040 which I bought from your company when I thought I would get the 13437 hitch - can these work with the DT73RR? Or should I return these and get the accessories you specifically list with the DT73RR when I order it?

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56040 and Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K # C45534 you purchased will still work just fine with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT73RR you are purchasing for your wife's 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon.
Since the # DT73RR measures 14" from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver you may need a ball mount with more than 3/4" rise if your trailer coupler height is over 14-3/4".
If that is the case just let me know the coupler height of your trailer and I would be happy to recommend the correct ball mount for your setup.
I went ahead and included a link to a helpful article that goes over how to measure your trailers coupler height and videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
