Can a Charge Wire be Ran from a Motor Home to the Power Distribution Box on a 2007 Chevy HHR
Question:
Can the hot wire be connected to the Jumper/Charger post by the Power Distribution box under the hood to provide a charge to the battery rather than running all the way to the back to actual battery. Would this provide a charge from the 6 way connector coming from the MH.

When wiring up a vehicle for flat towing if you are connecting a 12 volt power wire from the motor home trailer connector, that wire will need to go directly to the vehicle battery. To keep a maintenance charge on the battery I recommend using a harness such as # BX88206 with the tow bar wiring you will be using so that you can run a wire from the connector at the front of the truck to the vehicle battery.
There are a couple of ways to do this. First, you can tap into the running light circuit in the tow bar wiring but to provide power to the battery the RV running lights would have to be on all the time. Or if the connector at the back of the RV has a working 12 volt circuit you could use that circuit instead.
Which ever way you choose you would just attach the wire to the appropriate corresponding pin at the back of the connector that will be at the front of the truck and the other end of that wire will go to the positive battery terminal.
The main reason you do not want to attach a power anywhere but the battery is because the spot you mention has not been tested for or approved as a source to attach a constant 12 volt power wire so I cannot recommend it.
I have included a link to the installation details for the battery disconnect system for you.
