Looking for 1.508 ID Oil Seal for Spartan Boat Trailer

Question:

I need a replacement oil seal for an older Spartan boat trailer. The seal area diameter is 1.508 and the hub ID is 2.565. Spartan is out of business and I cant find seals anywhere. Do you have a workable seal? If I need to fit a sleeve to accommodate an available oil seal what would the seal number be and what would the sleeve OD need to be?

I looked through the grease and oil seals we offer, and I'm sorry to say we don't have anything remotely close.

Sleeving the spindle surface where the seal rides would be a possible solution if you have, or you know someone with the machining expertise, but you'd want to tack the sleeve in place so it doesn't rotate on the spindle. Because the seal we offer with the correct OD is a grease seal, you'd want to pack the bearings with grease instead of filling the hub with oil.

The # RG06-050 double-lip seal has the correct OD of 2.565 and an ID of 1.719, so you'd need to make up the .211 diameter difference with a sleeve. Even though the seal has a double lip, it still might allow the oil to pass through, which is why I recommend converting to grease.
