Solera Slide Awning Mounting Screws
Question:
Do the screws that hold the mounting plates on the outside of the slide box need to be checked for tightness periodically ? Thanks

Expert Reply:
It is true that movement and stress can cause screws to become loose over time but adding Butyl Tape Item # 344270341410-1 to the mounting bracket before installing it on the slide out can help prevent movement of the screws and prevent water from getting into the screw holes and rusting out the screws.
I've attached an installation video where you can see the butyl tape being applied before installing the mounting bracket.
