Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier # 6502 Fit a 2001 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Will the 6502 fit on Honda 2001 odyssey minivan? And is it difficult to take on and off when we want to put on our bike carrier?

There is an important measurement you are going to want to take prior to choosing any hitch mounted accessories. On your trailer hitch, measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the rear bumper. On Class III hitches we have installed on the same generation Odyssey as yours the measurement was approximately 5 to 6 inches.

For the Draw-Tite cargo carrier # 6502 it measures 13 inches from hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier when in the down position and 7-1/2 inches when folded up. If the measurement on your van is less than these, the carrier will fit.

As far as being easy to install or remove, the carrier weighs about 45 pounds so an average adult should have no trouble with it. I have included links to the instructions and a video review of this carrier for you.

Check your local and state laws, along with places you will be traveling, to determine if an additional light kit is required.
