LED Trailer Taillights with 2 inch Between Mounting Holes and 2 Wire Design

Question:

My 16 ft low boy utility trailer has a cracked brake/turn signal/running light. It has 2 wires on the rear turn/ brake light. All I see are 3 wire set up when I try to order. The light mount is a 2” double bolt plate. What do you have in an led that would match up to what I’m trying to replace? Please send links. Also, it looks like they used whatever color wire they had so nothing is the same color on either side. How do I tell which wire to connect to what? I have a good voltage meter, so... Thanks,

Expert Reply:

For a 2-wire trailer taillight with 2 inches between the mounting studs and is also LED you'd want the part # STL8RGB for the passenger side and part # STL9RGB for the driver side.

The two wires you have to your current taillights will carry the running light circuit on one wire and the stop/turn on the other. So you'd need to use your circuit tester to test both wire by function when connected to a tow vehicle.
