How To Install Tekonsha Brake Controller On a 2016 Ford F-150

Question:

I have a 2016 Ford F-150 XLT super crew with the tow package what additional wiring will I require to install a TEKONSHA Primus IQ - Premium brake controller Model 90160 in my truck to the existing wiring. Will I also need to have the dealership program the computer to recognize I have a brake controller installed as well. Thank you

In order to use a Tekonsha Trailer Brake Controller like the Primus IQ part # TK90160 on a 2016 Ford F-150 all you'd need is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 22292. This would make for a plug and play install with no trip to the dealer needed.
