Recommended Anti-Sway Weight Distribution System for Forest River Rockwood Ultra 2911BS
Question:
I have a 2020 Forest River Rockwood Ultra 2911BS with the following specs: Hitch Weight: 1038 lb. UVW. 7605 lb. CCC. 2233 lb. Exterior Length: 35foot 5 Exterior Height: 11foot 2 Exterior Width: 96 Sway is my new dance partner. I have friction anti sway bar and I am pulling the trailer with a 2021 F250 with the new 7.3 liter engine. So in reading all of your information on sway, I realize that my problem is that I need an anti sway system to match my trailers needs. What are your recommendations? And the BTW, your site has become my go to place for trailer and other equipment needs. Thanks for the great info.

You typically want the tongue weight of your trailer to fall towards the middle of the range of your weight distribution hitch's prescribed range. Your trailer with a 1038-lbs tongue weight dry could get up to 1100-lbs or more once you load everything into the trailer, so I think going up to the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control - No Shank - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW # EQ37141ET is the best solution. This WDH has a range of 1000-lbs to 1400-lbs, so you'll have some leeway when loading up and not have to worry about putting yourself over. Equal-i-zer systems do a great job of preventing sway when towing with the 4 point sway control and strong trunnion bars, so you're going to spend less time dancing, as you so eloquently put it- and you'll have a bit more relaxing of a drive instead of white knuckling it the whole way.
This system does not come with a shank included, so you'll need something like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 12" Long - 8" Rise, 4" Drop - 600 to 1,400 lbs TW # EQ90-02-4200 to connect the system to; you'll want to measure from the top of the truck's receiver to the ground and then from the coupler to the ground to determine how much of a drop you need.
I've linked an article that explains how to properly measure if you need any assistance with that, plus our entire selection of weight distribution shanks for you to check out and pick which one fits your needs best.
