1985 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

The box was roughed up a bit by delivery and one of the bolts is now rolling around in a delivery truck somewhere in America. Anyhow, I contacted etrailer and they got a whole new pack of bolts sent my way. Now I have a ton of extras. Anyhow, the hitch fit my 1985 C30, although I had to drill holes in the frame (easy). It looks super sturdy and was in good shape. No powder coat issues.

arrived fast and in great condition - bolted right up .
Although i had to drill 2 holes it went right into place .
Easy installation thank you

1970 GMC C/K Series Pickup

Got my new hitch late last night. I was so glad to get it I had to put it together right then. Its going to be a perfect fit. The hitch is very well built. Very surprised I could find a hitch for a 1970 GMC. I will be pulling my 27 ft Toy hauler after a little more restoration work. Always happy with Etrailer. I'll post more pics when I have it on and hooked up to my trailer

My new hitch from etrailer is working out great. I have pulled my Toy Hauler with my 70 GMC. Trailer weights a little over 9000 lbs. Also did aLS swap on the GMC 6 liter vortec

Fits nicely right under a 10 inch drop bumper on my 97 F-250 HD. Was able to leave the spare tire under there, though I had to grind the latching system a bit to have it fit just right. It is very visible from the sides of the truck along the sides of the frame because of how much it has to drop, but it is not very visible from the rear for those that care about aesthetics.

Hitch has towed everything Ive asked of it. Very solid, no regrets and more importantly no need to ever purchase another one!

I installed this hitch on a 1998
Chevy K3500 with a dump bed. I had to make a slight modification to the truck so that the hitch would bolt up. This included removing a metal shield from under the rear fuel tank, the hitch now offers some protection for the tank. In addition, I had to drill 2 - 1/2” holes in the rear of the frame to install the hitch. The hitch now works great on this older truck, and has been used many times over the past year.

by:

Straight forward install. This is a well built hitch that has taken everything I have thrown at it. The finish has held up well too.

Showed up missing 1 7/16 bolt and 1 7/16 flange nut. I believe it was due to shipping and not the fault of the shipper.

Quality hitch but none of the bolt holes line up, nothing a drill bit can't fix in about 15 minutes, 1972 K-10 Chevy

This hitch is excellent upgrade for my old Dodge dually to safely haul my new dump trailer. Heavy duty gussets around insert area for more peace of mind. Install was straight forward, great price, and etrailer.com got it to me quick.

Hitch has performed flawlessly, with max loads on multiple trips. Dually pretty much stays hitched to dump trailer.

I thought I had selected the correct Curt receiver and was ready to place an order online, but I decided to call instead. Ashley advised this receiver was the correct one for my bumper. She saved a lot of headache on my part avoiding order the incorrect product. The receiver actually delivered a day earlier than planned. I am impressed with the quality of the product and am planning on an install this weekend, then putting it to work. I will definitely shop etrailer again in the future. From the website, selection of products, knowledgeable associates and fast shipping, I made a good decision shopping here.

Although I had to "help" a couple holes with a drill the install went very well and looks great on my 83 k20! The holes were only partly off and took a few seconds to line up. Highly recommend curt products from E Trailer!

1993 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I installed two of these on 1993 ford trucks a f250 and a f350. Both trucks are 7.3 diesels with heavy cowboy bumpers. Buy high grade drill bits, Don't weld to the frame. Don't expect the spare tire and it's brackets to stay on the trucks and expect to reroute the tailpipe. In the end much more useful than just the bumper for multiple receiver hitch applications and worth the effort to upgrade.

This hitch went on my 84 K30 Chevy. Very easy once you remove the spare tire and carrier. Way heavy duty but very easy to install. No complaints with hitch whatsoever. The hitch was delivered in a cardboard box that had seen its better days. Box was busted open in several areas but the anvil type quality of the hitch didn't effect it at all. May have been the shipper fault but none the less.

This hitch was exactly what I needed. It fit my pickup truck perfectly and was easy to install. I use it pull my 14 K trailer to haul my backhoe, cars, and other equipment. I would recommend this hitch. It was a great value for the price. Thanks.

  • Does Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver C15511 Fit 1997 Ford F-250/350 With 37-1/2" Wide Frame?
It sure will! The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 you were looking at is designed to fit both a 34" wide and 37-1/2" wide frame on your 1997 Ford F-250/350. This is possible by flipping the side plates with the tabs facing out for the wider frame, or inward for the narrower frame. I included a link to the written instructions of the # C15511 for you to take a look at.

  • How Does Curt Hitch C15511 Fit Both 34 & 37-1/2 Inch Frames on 1993 Ford Super Duty
That's a really good question, and the reason the Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver - Multi Fit # C15511 is able to fit both 34 inch and 37-1/2 inch frames on your 1993 Ford is due to the placement of the side plates. If you take a look of the photo I added you can see it has side plates which do not come attached. To fit this to a 37-1/2 inch frame on your '93 Ford you will attach the side plates with the bolt holes facing outward, and to fit the hitch to a 34 inch frame you will attach...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 1989 Ford F-250
Due to the weight of your trailer, you are going to want to install a frame mounted trailer hitch on your 1989 Ford F-250. The weight capacity of the trailer is going to far exceed the weight capacity of the bumper as I am sure you have already figured out. They also do not make any sort of kit to strengthen the rear bumper to my knowledge therefore the frame mounted trailer hitch will be your best option. For this, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511. This...

I was able to obtain from Curt a chart showing key dimensions for their 3-Piece Trailer Hitch # C15511 (and other hitch models) that I linked for you. This shows that for hitch # C15511 the overall front-to-back length is just under 24-inches. The height from the top of the mount down to the top of the receiver tube is 8-inches.

  • Recommended 15K Hitch For 1997 Ford F-250 With 34 Frame
The only option that provides 15,000 gross towing weight capacity is the Curt Class V Receiver Hitch - 1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty part # C15511 which is designed for the 34" frame but is also a universal fit hitch so there is drilling into the frame required. All of the hitches available for this truck do require some drilling so this is your best option.

If that is the case then the Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511 might be a good option for you as it's designed for this frame and it has an 8" receiver drop which is measured from the top of the flange or bottom of the frame to the top of the receiver, see photo below. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13028 could potentially fit your 1966 Chevrolet C10 with aftermarket bumper. However, I would not be able to confirm this as the trailer hitch is only tested with the OEM bumper. I have attached a photo for you with a few measurements that will allow you to see if the receiver tube will clear the bumper. • Can Spacers be Added to the Curt Hitch for Bumper Clearance on a 1966 Chevrolet C10
I do have an option for you but I cannot recommend you add any spacers in between the trailer hitch and trailer frame as this would affect the integrity of the trailer hitch. Therefore, if the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13028 does not clear the rear bumper on your 1966 Chevrolet C10 then your only other option is to use the Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511. The distance from the bottom of the frame to the top of the receiver tube opening is 4-1/2" with part # 13028...

  • What is Best Trailer Hitch for 1992 Ford F-150 with Deep Drop Bumper
For a 1992 Ford F-150 with a deep drop bumper like what you mentioned the best 2 inch hitch we have is the Curt # C15511 which has higher towing capacities than the truck and does allow you to keep the rear mounted spare under it. You should note that any towing setup is only as strong as it's weakest component so what that means is this hitch would not limit you beyond what your truck's towing capacity is but you'd still need to stay under the truck's capacity.

  • Is There a Trailer Hitch for a 70s Ford F-250 with Flatbed
We do offer trailer hitch options for a 1972 Ford F-250 but as far as the flatbed goes, this will be up to you to decide as none of our options are designed for this use. However, the best option would be to go with one that is designed for models with a deep drop tube bumper as this would give you the best chance of compatibility. The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511 is what I recommend and there's a photo below to help you determine compatibility.

The # C15317 you were looking at is only confirmed to fit the 1988-2000 Chevrolet C/K series pickups with the 10" drop bumper and would not fit your F-350. The frame dimensions you listed for your truck are pretty standard for cab and chassis style trucks since you said 34 inches from outside to outside on the frame. Because the mounting flange of the Curt # C15511 Class V hitch has 3 tabs on each side, rather than a continuous mounting flange like many other hitches, it'll fit around the rivet shown in your photo. However, be aware that the Curt # C15511 is a fit for cab/chassis models only and won't fit a vehicle that has a standard truck bed on it. The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 is designed for cab and chassis models of the 1994 Chevy 3500 pickups. From what I could find it looks like your Cowboy Bumper is the 10" deep drop bumper so you'll want the Curt Class V Hitch # C15317 instead. This has bolt holes that are spaced 34-3/8" apart on center so you'd actually be measuring to the center of the mounting locations instead of the outside of your frame.
