Compatibility of Demco DM6099 Ram Puck Adapter With Curt R16 Slider Assembly

Question:

Hi- I have a new 2020 Ram 2500 short bed, and recently bought from etrailer a Curt A-16 hitch, Curt R-16 round tube slider and the Curt Adapter rails to fit the Ram OEM towing prep package pucks. Unfortunately, with this equipment my 5th wheel is not level and rides nose high. This is undoubtedly due to both the adapter rails and the slider, which raise the height of the hitch. Ive got the A-16 as low as possible, and my king pin box as high as possible, yet the 5th wheel is still nose high. Question: Will the Curt R-16 slider fit onto the Demco 5th wheel adapter DM 6099 for the Ram OEM prep package? If so, using that part should lower my nose by about 2 inches, which would be very helpful. I have plenty of room at the truck bed rails to lower the hitch height. I really dont wish to raise the trailer to achieve a level ride for a variety of reasons, if that can be avoided. Do you have any other suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks so much.

The Curt # C16560 R16 slider is compatible with industry-standard 5th wheel rails, such as those provided if the Demco # DM6099 5th wheel adapter for the Ram OEM prep package pucks is used. We haven't tested them together, but there is no reason why they wouldn't work for you, as there's nothing unusual about the R16 slider and the way it would attach to the adapter's rails that would prevent it from working.

The adapter is pretty low-profile, it will only add 1-3/8 inches to the height of the hitch.
