How to Determine Which Over Under Axle Conversion Kit for 2019 Keystone Hideout Travel Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have a 2019 Keystone Hideout 176LHS travel trailer and was looking to see if you have any information as to the axle diameter so I could use a Dexter over/under lift kit. Also looking for new wheels and wonder if you know what the hub diameter is? It has stock 14 inch factory wheels and want to replace with 15 inch. I believe my stock wheels are 14x5.5 with a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. Do you happen to have data that could confirm what I would need to upgrade to 15 inch wheels? Thank you

I was unable to determine the axle capacity or axle beam diameter of your Keystone Hideout, but given the 4500 lb GVWR, it could either be a 4400 lb axle which would have a 3 inch diameter and would use a 6 on 5-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern, or it could possibly be de-rated to 4000 lbs which would give it a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Either uses a 10 x 2-1/4 inch hub/drum.
Your best way to proceed would be to confirm the axle beam diameter by measurement and to confirm the wheel bolt pattern using the information provided in the linked article.
If you find that you have a 3 inch dimeter axle beam, you'll need the Dexter # K71-385-00 and for a 2-3/8 inch axle, use # K71-384-00. The over under kit would relocate the leaf springs from under the axle to on top of the axle, which would gain you the diameter of the axle plus the thickness of the spring pack as a height increase.
In order to recommend a wheel/tire combo I'd need you to confirm that wheel bolt pattern for me, as a 4400 lb axle would typically use a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern and the de-rated 4000 lb hubs would have a 5 on 4-1/2 as mentioned above.
