Recommended Kayak Carrier with Rear Load Assist on a 2014 Chevrolet Express Van

Question:

I have Thule square crossbars on a chevy express van. I want to be able to load kayaks from the rear without damaging the van. It seems this will depend on the height of the rack and its distance from the rear of the van. Im looking at the Malone Stinger, Yakima Sweetroll, and Yakima Handroll. Do you have any thoughts on which would work best? I want to be able to rest the bow on something while pushing from the rear, without ping the bow onto the van.

Helpful Expert Reply:

Of the options you mentioned, I highly recommend going with the Malone SeaWing with the Load Assist (Stinger), part # MPG113MD. The Stinger will reach the farthest back, minimizing the chance of needing to rest your kayak on your 2014 Chevrolet Express Van.

This carrier can handle kayaks up to 75 pounds. I've linked to a video review below.
