Recommended Trailer Brake Controller For 2018 Dodge Durango With Factory Tow Package

Just bought my wife a 2018 Dodge Durango and we would like to install a electronic brake for our 20ft camper. It has the 7 way and 4 flat plug on back next to hitch. Can you recommend a brake controller? And is there a installation video I can see?

There are a few different options when it comes to trailer brake controllers for your 2018 Dodge Durango.

The first option is a tradaitional trailer brake controller like the extremely reliable Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. As long as the 7-way and 4-way connector you have on your Durango is factory installed you can install the # 90195 using Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # TK93VR which will plug directly into the factory trailer brake controller port underneath your dash near the emergency brake pedal.

The option I recommend is the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 which plugs into the 7-way connector on your Durango, and does not require you to drill any holes in your dash to mount a controller. The great part about the # C51180 is it can be used in multiple different vehicles as long as they have a functioning 7-way connector.
