How to Carry Electric Bikes With 2010 Toyota Prius & 2018 Kia Soul

Question:

Im looking at your Hollywood Sport Rider SE ebike rack. The mfg requires a class II hitch. We own a 2010 Toyota Prius and 2018 KIA Soul for which I cant find on your site. Am I missing one?

Ok, we can get either your 2010 Toyota Prius or 2018 Kia Soul set up to carry electric bikes, but you are correct that there isn't an option for a Class II, 1-1/4 inch hitch for either vehicle. That said, you can still carry your electric bikes, and to do so you have a couple of options.

One is to use the Hollywood rack with a 2 inch EcoHitch trailer hitch, OR you can use a different bike rack compatible with the available Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitches. I'll go ahead and list out the options for how you can carry electric bikes with either vehicle.

2 Inch Trailer Hitch
- 2010 Toyota Prius: EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7178
- 2018 Kia Soul: EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7326
- Bike Rack: Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY84FR

1-1/4 Inch Class I Trailer Hitch:
- 2010 Toyota Prius: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11276
- 2018 Kia Soul: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11419
- Bike Rack: Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack - Gunmetal Gray # NV12G or Metallic Black # NV12B

These would be the only options, and the best one would be the EcoHitch due to its 2 inch receiver and superior 300 lb tongue weight capacity, which could be needed if your electric bikes are on the heavier side. I have added links below to video reviews as well as installations for you to check out if you'd like to take a look.
