Compatibility of Roadmaster Comfort Ride on Fifth Wheel Trailer with 2 3/8" Axles

Question:

I just bought a 2012 Skyline Koala 27cds fifth wheel. it has the original springs, and equaflex trailair. The trailer is light at 4,675lbs dry weight with a gvwr of 6,700. It has the small 14 rims. I want to upgrade the suspension and was thinking of the following: Roadmaster: 2560 Slipper spring system for up to 5,000-pound rated axles and 2450 Shock absorber system for 2-3/8 axles. Although Im unsure if this is the correct application or the right direction to go. My goal is to upgrade a 10 year old suspension and improve ride quality. Please advise

I have a solution for you but unfortunately the # RM-2460-2560 is designed for trailers with 3" axles. You can get just the shocks # RM-2450 and upgrade your equalizer with one such as # LC279688. Adding these two components to your trailer will improve the ride with out having to swap out the leaf springs on your trailer.

If you are wanting an all in one suspension enhancement kit, I recommend the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 2-3/8" Round Axles # TSR7000T04. People who have installed this kit have torsion axles and they love how the Timbren Silent Ride performs. The biggest plus that we've seen is that it is an independent suspension so you will not have the recoil that you have with a traditional leaf spring set up.
